Why FRRO registration is required?
Registration is required for: Children below 16 years of age are exempt from Registration if they have entered on PIO card or on any type of Visa and except where specified other wise. It is mandatory for all foreigners to personally appear at the concerned FRRO office for obtaining any Visa related services.
Do OCI holders need to register with FRRO?
i) PIO card holders do not require a visa to visit India for a period of 15 years from the date of issue of the PIO card. (ii) They are exempted from registration at FRRO /FRO if their stay does not exceeds 180 days, Incase if the stay exceeds 180 days, they shall have to register with FRRO / FRO within the next 30 days.
How do I check my Frro application status?
The foreigner can track the status of the application through portal. For any clarification, FRRO Support Centres can be contacted. Upon Grant/Rejection of service, the same would be intimated to the foreigner. His/Her RC/RP etc would be sent through email or it can also be downloaded from portal by signing in.
