Swine flu in Delhi
- The harsh and prolonged winter in Delhi is contributing to the spike in the number of infected cases from swine flu. Although the government data does not report any deaths due to H1N1, some city hospitals claim that 11 persons died last month due to the infection. In entire 2018, only 205 H1N1 cases and two deaths were reported.
Seasonal flu and swine flu have seen a sudden spike in Delhi with an official survey showing that as many as 41 per cent of households in the national capital which were surveyed had one or more members of the family suffering from flu-like symptoms. As per media reports, till July 31, only two cases of swine flu were reported in Delhi.
